After viscous cycles of never ending negotiations,Retail Giant Amazon is all set to acquire Palm from its Parent Hewlett-Packard for an undisclosed amount.HP is apparently eager to get rid of Palm from its repository and Amazon has been narrowed down as the potential buyer. Its interesting to note that former Palm CEO,Jon Rubinstein who is currently Amazons Board of directors is claimed to the one gunning for this deal.
Palm which was HP's idea to make its land-mark in the mobile marketplace, failed to live upto its expectations as a result of stiff competitions from legendary leaders with the like Apple's IOs & Google's Android. Hp's failure to cement itself in the market was clearly visible when its TouchPad went on to become a disaster while HP tried to salvage whatever it could make by slashing its prices & clearing out its excess baggage. With HP's WebOs business getting split with a possible Q4 halt on its operations all that can be said is that desperate time calls for desperate measures even if it means laying off a few hundred employees.Lets just hope that HP doesn't commit the same mistake Motorola did after it entered the Mobile market with a good foundation.Lets hope history is not repeated again.
