Sony Reader PRS-T1 hacked For Enhanced Android Access:No Angry Bird Yet

One good thing about hackers & modders is that they unlock the hidden features & tweaks just like Sony's T1 reader. It was claimed that the T1 cannot be hacked as it wasn't running on a complete Android OS,but apparently a YouTube video reveals that root has been cracked & reveals a whole lot of new reading applications never seen before in the reader. Is it supposed to to that? No.

Now that the PRS-T1 reader has indeed been hacked, which is now running ADW Launcher along with some reader apps not featured before.Although there is no user guide or instructions currently available,we can expect them to appear in the Sony or Android forums in a couple of days.Sony PRS-T1 joins the class of Nook Touch as a 6"Android tablet.Although still in Alpha stages, this looks promising enough it might not as invigorating as Barnes & Noble Nook or the Kindle as of now but already it has almost become a hit with the Android fans.

The hack still is not fully operational & still Angry Birds wont run in this as of now.The Sony PRS-T1 which is currently available for $150 for retail. Also with the CyanogenMod7 for the TouchPad already released, the market for cheaper & hack-friendly tablets are on the rise now.So that makes two 6"hacked tablets(Nook & PRS) with possibility of more along the way.

Update:
The hack is in pretty early stages. Not ready for release yet. Some of the functional apps inlcude CoolReader, FBReader, ReLaunch, AWD.Launcher, Android Terminal, that’s pretty much it. For some apps the latest and greatest version wouldn’t work (CoolReader, Terminal), but for FBReader the latest “stable” version crashes while the “experimental” 2.0 alpha works quite well.
