Looks like it was worth waiting this long as Adobe has finally released the Reader application for iOS devices and it is available in the App Store for free with 16 languages supported.
With the application you can of course view PDF files but you can also access encrypted documents, interact with PDFs, print them wirelessly, and even share them. You can now open PDF files you receive via e-mail, download from the Web or open documents from any application that supports the "Open In..." command.
