Most of you would have known about the Cookies. Now that Cookies are undergoing Evolution, its better I highlight you about what we are up against:
So I guess that's all for now and I will update this post when the SuperUberCookie Hits the market :)- Cookies: The most fundamental & Archaic tracking device used to keep tabs on any users browsing activity in the internet as long as he hasn't left the websites domain.Remember Cookies are made by the website, written into by the website and finally destroyed by the website once the user leaves that page or Site. There may be some rudimentary remains which you can remove using Ccleaner or manually in the Temp folder. All it does is to track who you are and when you visited last time etc and also your personal details if you made it available to them for instance when your log into a site.
- SuperCookies: Imagine a Cookie which can keep tabs on you even after you left a website, track you across multiple website boundaries, and if you EVER manage to delete it has the power to regenerate or respawn the cookie instantly?Well thats SuperCookie. These guys are so difficult to trace that its difficult to trace and locate and a newbie has 0% of ever discovering it.Based on existing "Browser FingerPrinting" technology or in simpler terms Your Browser is your enemy,it sure does pack a punch.Since basic Cookies are easy to track and delete, there was a huge demand from the Advertising Industry to come up with a more robust tracking device capable of Infringing the privacy gate of each & every user there by pulling the curtains on User Anonymity. For more on this read This & also This .
- UberCookies: This is probably the most potent & most dangerous tracker to be device. This is based on the concept of "Identity uncovering & History Stealing".You must be familiar with the term "Sniffing".This is just another loophole in the web which allows Websites or Sniffers to track your recent Web Histories and what it does is it executes hidden Javacript & Css exploitations which involves altering Link Visited & Colors etc.For Instance any Yes/No or Stay on Page or Leave Button will almost definitely trigger a javascript onClick function which will run some malicious script which will compromise your security almost severely. Currently as of now Firefox is the only browser which has privacy browsing enabled & it kinda holds solid when it comes to security. And with FireFox 7 & Firefox 8 just released you might want to give it a try.
