Apple had dragged HTC to the court on the basis of a patent infringement in March.Unlike anything similar to the Apple Vs Samsung saga,this one appears to be related to Google's Android Os featured in HTC mobiles.Google apparently took HTC's side and threw a few nibbles in the way of a few patents and now its has become a Google vs Apple issue with Google taking it out with the trade panel.Google claims that event if they do have some violations if it came to Apple's patents,that shouldn't be taken as a reason to Bar HTC from competing in the U.S market.With HTC being one of Google's clients who release SmartPhone based on Google's Android,it didn't come as a surprise when Google decided to team up with HTC.Google had quoted:
"Apple is the largest seller of mobile computing devices in the U.S. Allowing this supplier to eliminate the competition from a fast-moving maverick competitor (HTC) could drive up prices, diminish service, decrease consumers’ access to the technology and reduce innovation."
With HTC Accounting for almost a gigantic one-third of Android devices,the argument put forth by Google & HTC is to prevent the Monopoly of Apple & its IOs from becoming the sole viable mobile platform.With the tactic of Patent infringement,Apple has always been able to keep the competition @ bay.Google also claimed that Apple had initiated patent violation rights against Samsung,Motorola,now HTC & given a chance also Google.With the ball's now in HTC & Google's court & the case hearing scheduled on Dec 6th,I hope they rule it in favor of Google & HTC.Its time someone gave Apple a taste of its own medicine & stop monopolizing the Mobile Phone Industry
