Today we will deal with how to enable & use the remote access feature in Windows 8.This feature will come in handy when transferring files from the Virtual machine to hist system & vice versa.Establishing a remote desktop connection & performing file transfer operations is currently the best practice to transfer files from one Operating system to other.Lets see how we to remote access Windows 8 using Windows 7 host system. But before we may have to make a few changes.Take a look below:
settings for windows 7 host system:
1)Go to Control Panel-->System & security-->System.Now tick on the Allow remote access checkbox & now click on Allow remote access.
2)The radio button "Allow connections from computers running any versions of Remote Desktop’ must be enabled. "
Settings for Windows 8 Virtual Machine:
1)Tap the windows 8 Control panel tile, then scroll down go to more settings @ the bottom of the left panel window.
2)Now repeat the same process like you did it in windows 8.
p.s: If you are using VMware Virtual Machine you will find VMware Network Adapter installed in both the Host as well as Virtual System. To find it press Window+R key to open Run command and type ncpa.cpl.
In the network Adapter menu suit a suitable non-identical address for both the machines.
WARNING: PLEASE MAKE A NOTE OF YOUR IP SETTINGS,AS YOU WILL LOOSE THE PREVIOUS SETTINGS AFTER YOU CHANGE IT.
Now to start the desktop remote conenction:
1)Open the Remote desktop connection & enter the IP address of the Windows 8 machine you created & click Ok.
2)Enter the credentials to log into WIndows 8
There you have it!Feel free to report any error to me
