The default Windows 7 Explorer has always been lackluster as per my personal taste & after a bit of Googling,I was came across this App named DWMColorMod which would allow me to tinker with the color saturation features of Windows 7 Explorer as shown below:
The Modder is actually a tweak tool that fools around the RGB Color settings,Saturation,Screen Brightness,Reflection along with Transparency features & Color Intensity of windows 7 Explorers borders.The application also comes with a factory reset"Revert Button" which would revert the settings back to the way it was.You can download the latest version from here
