Iphone IOs Buster:How To Create a WiFi Hotspot Hub with Your iOS Phone

Your IOS phone can very well be used as a Wi-fi Hub rather than be used as a Wi-fi portal for your Pc or Laptop. This means that it will be able to manage not only but multiple devices with a maximum limit of 5.There is a ten fold step to create this new Hub feature & follow my steps one bye one:

Step1)Iphone 4 required:This feature works best for Iphone 4,although Iphone 3 can also work but its not the same case as Iphone 4.This post will feature only Iphone 4 stages.

Step2)IOs version 4..2.6 Or Greater Required: You need IOs version 4.2.6 for the Verizon Users, where as At & T carrier users can 4.3 IOs.You must upgrade your software for this feature to work without any flaws.

Step3)Enable the Hot Spot Feature: For At & T users: Go to At & T website, login with your credentials & there will be an option to enable this Hot spot feature with the click of just a mouse. You can also call the Customer support & request them to enable it for you.You can reach them @ 611.You can also implement it using At & T my wireless App built into the Phone and enable it yourself.Follow anyone of the three methods & enable the hot spot.

Step4)Data Pro Plan required:A Data pro plan is required to enable this hub feature. If you are currently using the Unlimited or the minimal 200MB plan you gotta upgrade it to the DataPro plan for enabling the hot spot feature.

Step5)Activate Personal HotSpot From Settings Menu: Go to your phone settings-->General-->Network-->Personal Hot Spot & then select "On".

Step6)Create Password for Protection & Anonymity: AT & T by default will ask you for a password whenever you are using Wi-fi,although the other carriers might not.So for your own safety create a password using various combinations or choose the default password. Please do not forget the password or atleast share it only with your group & maintain its secrecy. Those who want to connect will also need the pass.

Step7)Connection method: The hotspot feature works in all 3 connection modes namely-USB,BlueTooth or Wifi.By default all of them are enabled so no need to worry about this feature. If you don't want battery drain then disable the feature you don't intend to use.

Step8)Bluetooth/Wifi Conenction: When using your phone as the Hub,any device trying to connect whether Bluetooth or Wi-fi will search for the devices & will find your IOs phone as an available option. To connect to your phone for Hub access enter the password created in Step6 to use your phone as the modem & Wi-fi hub.

Step9)Phone call reception: unlike the conventional USB mode where you cannot receive phone calls, using the Bluetooth or Wi-fi feature you can still attend the phone calls & your connection will not be terminated when using AT & T.However in Verizon, the issue is different, attending any phone calls while your phone is being used as hub will terminate the HuB network & the conenction will fail abruptly.

Step10)ShutDown All: To disconnect everyone from the IOs Hub simultaneously, simply turn off the Hotspot feature in your phone just like you turned on.

Well there you have it.In case you run into any issues, feel free to contact me using the comments my blog
