Velocity Micro's Cruz T408 and T410 Unveiled:Two Affordable Android Tablets

Velocity Mircro has unveiled 2 of its latest tablets namely,Cruz T408 and T410 keeping in mind the various features & the price tag.The Cruz T408 and T410 have been designed to be considered as the fastest & the most feature per dollar tablets under a price tag of $300.Apart from a few minor physical differences,aspect ratio  & price, T408 and T410 are almost identical in every other aspect.AS the name implies  T408 is going to be an 8 Inch tablet where as T410 will sport a 10 inch screen.Both will contain access to the Amazon App store,thanks to the built-in mechanism and Wi-fi internet access.Some of the features include:
  • 1GHz Cortex A-8 Processor with 512 MB or RAM.
  • Front Camera.
  • Ultra responsive Capacitive screen.
  • Wi-fi support for 802.11n.
  • Pre-installed Amazon App which enables access to the Amazon App store.
  • Android v2.3 codenamed GingerBread Os.
  • A premium suite which includes full versions of Angry Bird Rio,Adobe Flash & QuickOffice.
  • A fully licensed Adobe Flash player 10.3
  • 1 year parts & labor warranty.
The  T408 will sport a 800 * 600 resolution with an aspect ratio of 4:3 where as T410 will feature a 1280 * 720 with an aspect ratio of 16:9.Both the tablets are available for shipping @ Velocity's site with  T408 with a retail price tag of #239 where as T410 will come for $299.Its a pity that neither of them will have access to the Android market,which means they can access only the Amazon store just like Kindle Fire,but that's available for $199.While its true that people might favor Amazon in this type of deal,if Google releases the open source code for Ice Cream Sandwich as promised, these budget tablets could become platforms for custom ICS ROMs very quickly.Click here to visit Velocity Mirco
