Motorola XPRT Update Announced:No GingerBread

With Majority of Motorola's devices receiving its necessary updates, the latest on the list being Motorola XPRT.With Motorola releasing the GingerBread update for DROID Pro & also Motorola Phone 4G receiving its updates, its time XPRT had its update too.But unfortunately the update features only some minor bug fixes & new features but there is no mention of any GingerBread update for the Sprint XPRT.Unfortunately unconfirmed reports claim that Sprint's XPRT will currently be on Froyo & the GingerBread is not available as of now.
The update will fix a voicemail bug associated with phone number change, also the phones behavior has been tweaked when trying to make international calls depending whether you are in Sprint network or domestic roaming. Some CDMA tweaks have also been implemented. The Messaging/texting department has also received some tweaks where now once can send SMS featuring more than 160 characters rather than breaking it up into multiple texts. There will also be a visual feedback regarding the status of your message whether it was forwarded or replied etc. There will be support for the  EAS PIN along with a myriad of other fixes.
The update is expected to last for just a mere 7 minutes for installation & if you haven't received any OTA,then check your OS settings  & scan for updates otherwise head over to Sprint & do an update manually.Unfortunately it looks like we might have to wait further for the GingerBread OS to arrive for XPRT.
