HP To Seal The Fate of Its PC Division This Month End

Hewlett Packard Co. will make its decision to whether or not pull the plugs on the PC division will be made by the company CEO, Meg Whittman. The fate of the so called Personal Systems Group's,otherwise known as PC division of HP,fate will be decided by the end of the month rather than prolonging the process.Whether HP decides to Spin-off its Pc division is yet to seen, but the $ 41 billion division which has been considered as world's largest PC maker from a financial perspective the PSG has not been able to live upto its standards especially in the last 2 years with its stocks plummeting down.
With HP planning to focus more into Software & service domain,& HP Phasing out WebOs things are not going in the right direction for HP.With the discontinuation of the Tablet,HP's options are pretty much limited now.Incase HP decides to Spin-Off the PSG division the it will take ateast 12 months to 18 months to complete the process.
"With regard to the potential spinoff of PSG, we're committed to doing work right now to determine the best path forward and we expect the board to make a determination by the end of the calendar year if not sooner," Whitman told investors and analysts last month. "This decision is solely based on the value to and investors and value to customers.
Hewlett Packard's employees better get over the "post traumatic syndrome" after witnessing company successions and better be prepared for the inevitable. This just might be the beginning of the end of HP's historic PSG.
