Firefox 6 Beta To Receive Native UI & Flash Update For Android

Firefox made its debut in the Android platform almost a year back yet it is currently lagging behind the other conventional browsers available in the Android market like Bolt,Dolphin etc.Now that Google Chrome is also looking to make its appearance in the mobile app,Firefox better step up the process if it doesn't want to loose to Google in the mobile version also,as Google looks all set to overtake Mozilla's market share by the end of 2011.
Firefox 6 Beta To Receive Native UI & Flash Update For Android
The Dev team has announced a series of changes to be implemented on to the mobile browser which includes support for a native user interface along with the integration of Flash.Unfortunately these features already exist in the conventional SmartPhone browsers.Having said that the beta version is still a long way from being actually implemented.
The mobile version of Firefox didn't quite click as it was expected to due to the same usual Sluggishness along with usual instability when it comes to plugin's & extensions.Mozilla better start fine-tuning the app now that Chrome will be implemented soon enough and also with Opera mini receiving accolades, things might be going from bad to worse. In the PC domain, with Chrome & Mozilla locked in Browser wars & Google Chrome all set to unseat Firefox as the second best browser,Firefox is literally a sinking ship now.The XUL version has be removed from its predecessor where as it still retains the Gecko engine which improves response time & provides better browsing experience.
The absence of flash support in Firefox is absolutely staggering & flash plays a very important role in the Android domain & its a must have feature in the mini browsers.Realizing the drawbacks,Mozilla has promised to implement Flash in the future versions, but lets hope they do it before Chrome gets released.

Microsoft Donates $44 Million To Kick Android's Ass

Microsoft has apparently donated £28 million, or roughly $44 million to its Windows Phone partners which include Nokia & Samsung in order to bolster Microsoft's campaign in United Kingdom. It is also rumored that three-fourth of this amount will go to Nokia to broker the deal which would ensure that future Nokia SmartPhones will be running on Windows Phone 7.5/Mango & above.According to an anonymous source:
‘Microsoft is funding a massive campaign with Nokia across every single media you can imagine. It’s the last roll of the dice for them. They must go big, bad and boldly. Microsoft is desperate to kick the hell out of Android. If they can get across how amazing Mango is they could really crack it this time.’
Nokia is all set to unveil its very first Windows Phone devices at the Nokia World Event to be held in London on October 26th,where as Samsung is also looking forward to diversify from the Android platform probably after the launch of Galaxy nexus during the Samsung & Google Event to be held in Hong Kong on October 19th Tuesday.Samsung Omnia W is said to be the primary ficus of the Holiday season in U.K .
There are also rumors that the major emphasis might be given to the social networking features & integration, although the details are miniscule to say the least as to what we can expect during the World Nokia Event.

Apple iPhone 4S /iOS 5 Features preexisting In Android

Apple's product has peculiar penance which literally entices people to go for its coveted hardware which makes them feel unique, satisfied & also secure in a way & now that iOS5 has been rolled out which includes updates to previous apps & brought newer apps,Apple users are really in fora treat. On the flip-side are the Android users, who are actually Android dilettante's who are in no intentions to switch over the iOS domain. This is also propelled by the fact that if the same Apps which Apple is using to Woo its users has been long prevailing in the Android market.Lets just take a look & compare the top of the line Apps featured in both Android & Apple SmartPhones & devices.
In case your are wondering the image above corresponds to the Android genre where as the one below are the apps currently shipped along with Apple's latest iOS5.So even if you download all the apps from the Android market & plan to take on iPhone 4S,think again, you just might get Terminated by Apple's Siri as its a cold hearted Android Killer.Apparently Siri has rendered other Voice interpretation software literally useless .In the pre-iOS 5 era Android dominated the Voice domain with dynamic Vlingo app and also the voice search & Google Car Home Apps.Unfortunately Apple made a complete U-Turn after the iOS5 launch & Siri single handedly vaporized them.Siri's Fuzzy Logic technology is probably the highlight of the Intelligence feature & I am looking forward for the Android implementation.
Apple's latest messenger app,iMessenger which enables Apple users to chat,share/send multimedia files ,videos etc using iCloud finds its Android installment in Google Talk,Facebook Messenger & Beluga. Also iMessenger might not even be able to take on Google Voice.
The newsstand app enables iOS device users to fetch his/her magazine subscriptions from the Apple store. If you are an Android enthusiast, then definitely you must have heard about Nook. This is the corresponding Android App which will retrieve the magazines from the Android market onto the screen.Apple's Remainders seem to be Android's classic Google Calendar & Jorte App which have been prevalent in the App store for almost years now,in fact even before iPhone 4 was unveiled.
May be Apple has the official twitter App built into the iOS5 but the Android users had been using TweetCaster,Twidroyd which is actually a 3rd party app.Apple's motives to not to indulge in 3rd party apps might be a part of its strategy to reduce its dependence on it & would prefer to load it right into the iOS directly.Thats not all, there are a plethora of other app's which are available in Google's Android market, which are just now appearing in Apple's iOS5 devices.Whats the point in publicizing something in a new name when the same has been preexisting already?
In the Photography section,Android's HTC 4G Amaze has probably the best camera which overtake Apple's iphone 4S Camera with more lights per Pixel & better properties.Apple's Camera App is contemporary with Androids ZOOM Fix.Apple's Illustrious Safari browser which is considered as the most efficient Mobile web browser as it supports maximum HTML 5 tags & features than anyother in the market.Opposite to this is the Dolphin browser which is an open source app & Google's very own Chrome is anticipated to take its place in future Android mobiles.
So as you can see Android is almost ready to take on Apple & its associated devices & now with Android's latest Installment codenamed Ice Cream Sandwich all ready to be unveiled in the Samsung & Google Event on October 19th hong Kong,we can expect the iOS vs Android war to get fueled further. The event will go live at 7 P.M as per the Pacific standard time on october 18 which means 10:00 A.M.You can also watch it on Streaming At http://youtube.com/android,after the Hong Kong its expected to be unveiled in San Diego which would be absolutely fabulous.

Sony Video Unlimited App For Tablet S:Also Coming For non-Sony Android SmartPhones

If you thought that Netflix,HBO Go & Android Movie rentals weren't enough, look what Sony has in stores for you.The Sony Video Unlimited App will be a new feature in the upcoming Tablet S launch in Japan & surprisingly it will also make its debut to other non-Sony Android SmartPhones as well(Android)-something Sony has never done before. The App will made available for Sony's SmartPhones & Tablets for now & the non-Sony App will be on its way.
As of now Video Unlimited features more than 6500 Movies & way over 40,00 TV episodes from some of the major studio's & networks along with the Indies found in various Sony merchandises ranging from PlayStation 3 to SmartPhones to Sony TV.Formerly nicknamed as Qriocity which was expected to feature both Video Unlimited & Sony's Music Unlimited into one, will soon be making its appearance in the non-Sony Android gadgets, although not all of them will be supported as it might depend upon software & hardware requirements,Not to mention the video licensing issues.According to Mike Aragon,Sony's vice president and general manager of video and music services:
"Video is complicated by some of the technical aspects of our deals with the studios," Aragon said in an interview. "Basically, not every Android device out there has the same hardware and can play video at the same level of quality, and we have to make sure that the quality of our service is something that lives up to our standards and is something our studio partners are happy with too."
It was also implied that the Apple iOS devices will not be featuring the Sony Video Unlimited App whether iPhone or iPad or iPad Touch any time soon.Right now they seem to be focussed completely on the Android platform & will be rolled out in early 2012 for non-Sony SmartPhones & Tablets featuring Android.
Sony has probably more Arsenals than what Google can bring to the table, the most powerful being the Media Exposure.Sony has been a brand name in the media industry, something Google has not much of an experience.Sony's prowess in the TV & production line along with the video game exposure just might what needs to boost its sale after an appalling Q3 results for the PlayStation Giant.

Sony Reader PRS-T1 hacked For Enhanced Android Access:No Angry Bird Yet

One good thing about hackers & modders is that they unlock the hidden features & tweaks just like Sony's T1 reader. It was claimed that the T1 cannot be hacked as it wasn't running on a complete Android OS,but apparently a YouTube video reveals that root has been cracked & reveals a whole lot of new reading applications never seen before in the reader. Is it supposed to to that? No.

Now that the PRS-T1 reader has indeed been hacked, which is now running ADW Launcher along with some reader apps not featured before.Although there is no user guide or instructions currently available,we can expect them to appear in the Sony or Android forums in a couple of days.Sony PRS-T1 joins the class of Nook Touch as a 6"Android tablet.Although still in Alpha stages, this looks promising enough it might not as invigorating as Barnes & Noble Nook or the Kindle as of now but already it has almost become a hit with the Android fans.

The hack still is not fully operational & still Angry Birds wont run in this as of now.The Sony PRS-T1 which is currently available for $150 for retail. Also with the CyanogenMod7 for the TouchPad already released, the market for cheaper & hack-friendly tablets are on the rise now.So that makes two 6"hacked tablets(Nook & PRS) with possibility of more along the way.

Update:
The hack is in pretty early stages. Not ready for release yet. Some of the functional apps inlcude CoolReader, FBReader, ReLaunch, AWD.Launcher, Android Terminal, that’s pretty much it. For some apps the latest and greatest version wouldn’t work (CoolReader, Terminal), but for FBReader the latest “stable” version crashes while the “experimental” 2.0 alpha works quite well.
