BlackBerry Services Fully Restored,But No Compensation?:RIM

Research In Motion(RIM) has officially announced during the press conference that the BlackBerry services are now fully operational.When asked regarding any compensation package to be delivered to the BlackBerry users,co-CEO of RIM,Jim Balsillie had absolutely no idea on if & claimed that RIM's main focus was to work on the technical snag & get the BlackBerry services up & running as soon as possible.He also mentioned that there will be a talk regarding that aspect with the RIM board & will be decided.
                                                         The main reason for this fiasco was due to the apparent collapse of a back-up system in case of switch failure.A dual-redundancy high capacity switch failed in Europe; that should have been handled by a backup system, but that system also collapsed.This lead to the imminent overloading of the servers all over & by the time the system was back on line there were Terabytes of Backlogs which had to be removed to resume uninterrupted services.Although its still not sure how the back-up system had failed,the rule of thumb points to some hardware related failures.
                                                        With a 99.97 % uptime in the last 18 months,RIM's image has definitely taken a dent & we can be pretty sure that they will ensure such an event is never replicate in the future.Having already launched the investigations,they are currently in talks with the Hardware vendors regarding the apparent hardware glitch.
                                                     This was probably the worst time for this Crash to happen at a time which coincided with Apple's Historic launch of iOS 5 & iMessenger which is aimed directly at BlackBerry's BBM.With Apple's threat looming over BBM,RIM has its work cut out for it.

BlackBerry Services Back Online:Hackers Not Involved

This comes as delightful news for the BlackBerry users who had their services down for the third straight day.With U.S & Canada also joining this list,it appears that they have finally got hold of the situation & already they are claiming that the BBM,Web & Email services have already started to function in places where its services were affected.
                                                      Still there are people who claim that the BlackBerry services are still down,but the good thing is that the bits & bytes have started flowing slowly once again now that they have started to clear the hug backlog created due to a failover switch issue.While U.S & Canada BlackBerry services are back online,those with the EMEIA network like India,Africa,Middle East & Latin American countries,the services are still down for a record straight 4th day.
                                                        With media speculating that the result of the BlackBerry Outrage was due to security breach by a bunch of Hackers,the RIM quickly released a press statement claiming that its services were not infiltrated & users will be able to recover most of the data and nothing will be lost.However RIM has not announced any compensation for the BlackBerry users and neither has it issued a deadline for this outage to be fixed permanently. 
                                                                       

Blackberry Server Crash Hits America:Hits Panic Button

The BlackBerry server Offline issue which happened in the Middle East & some European countries has finally hit America & the RIM has pressed the panic button.With RIM scratching its head over and over again trying to identify the main cause of this server issue as its users are left without any access to BBM,Emails or Webacess for a third straight day.Based on the official statement released by the RIM,it can be implied that its engineers had an idea regarding this menace -but it looks like they are still trying to narrow it down.Meanwhile Canada has also started to experience the same issues and has joined the club.

                                                 Earlier it was indicated that the issue was identified as a core switch failure within RIM's Infrastructure and even though failover switch was implemented it didn't work as it had been anticipated,which means there are huge backlogs building up.Although not most of the users are experiencing all three issues together,for instance BBM works for some while Web Doesn't,for one the web works where as email doesn't etc.The rule of the thumb states that since its all three services are routed via their server,the fault most definitely lies within it.Lets hope they can fix the issue soon. 

Blackberry Tag With NFC Unveiled By RIM For BlackBerry SmartPhones: Now Users Can Share & Connect

Research In Motions,more commonly known as RIM Co-CEO Jim Balsille unveiled RIM's Blackberry Tag today @ the GITEX conference in Dubai.The BlackBerry Tag With NFC support will allow Blackberry users to connect with One another & share multimedia files.Jim Balsille had quoted:

                      "BlackBerry Tag is an exciting and innovative feature that makes sharing contact information and multimedia content effortless and seamless. "BlackBerry Tag opens a new dimension to the BlackBerry platform that is powerful, simple and intuitive and we think it will be welcomed by both users and developers."

The BlackBerry tag which will be pre-packaged with the next BlackBerry 7 Os Update will allow users to not only share document but also will be able to add one another instantly in the BlackBerry Messenger ie BBM.The users can share contact information, documents, URLs, photos and other multimedia content by simply tapping their BlackBerry smartphones together.Google's Android & Apple's iOS users are eagerly waiting for the their versions of the BBM,there doesn't seem to be any confirmation regarding it.

                                        BlackBerry tag also takes advantage of the Near Field Communications concept,the same technology which will enable your phone to be used as a digital wallet.Click here to read more about it.The NFC was included in BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930 as well as the curve series 9350/9360/9370 Smartphones and have the privilege to be the first BlackBerry device to feature this concept.Also there are plans to expose the BlackBerry Tag via the Api's on the BlackBerry platfrom which would enable developers to "tap & share" their applications using their own app.

BlackBerry Messenger To be Charged For Use In Android:Will You Pay For Subscription Fee?

If you have a lot of buddies who use BlackBerry then there is good news & bad news.The Good news is that Blackberry Messenger might be coming to the Android & Apple Platform with a possibility of the announcement to be made @ BlackBerry's event to be held between October 18-20th.The bad news is you might have to pay a monthly subscription fees to access the BBM App.This news was probably leaked by a Research In Motion(RIM) Employee & he claims that when released Users might have to pay a monthly subscription of $4 in U.S,where it might be as high as $8 in U.K.Doesn't it sound weird that when there are so many Apps available which enables all these features for free BBM will be forcing people to pay an annual subscription of $50.So will you go for it?

BlackBerry Messenger App Confirmed On iOS and Android

The popular Blackberry App has been confirmed to appear on Google's Android & Apple's IOs X platform.For those of you who have a lot of friends on BlackBerry then this might be the best news you were waiting for.Although the news has been flying all over the internet since,March there were no confirmation from RIM what so ever.Also there was no time frame mentioned but its rumored to happen within this year.Also its believed that Android will be the one to get the BBM App as its easier to port it to Android as its an open OS rather than Apple's IOs X which might be delayed.

                                               The biggest catch here is that irrespective of the platform & if you have the BBM App then you can not only talk with one another,but share pics/Videos & many more features.This might be Research In Motion's new strategy to expand the overall band and also a way to attract a few users who might get seduced by the BBM App & will decide to jump for the BlackBerry phone.With More & more leaked images appearing in the internet on the Android Platform,we can expect a release @ probably an expedited rate.The image above displays a BBM on the Android mob & by the looks,it might just be a primitive version of the BBM.According to the reports,BlackBerry messenger for Android might be rolled out @ BlackBerry's event in San Fransisco between Oct 18-20.All eyes on them then.
