Samsung Galaxy Nexus To Hit Canda Soon
We all know what day it is today: it is Google Ice Cream Sandwich and Samsung Nexus Prime day! To be quite honest, the date is October 19 in Hong Kong which translates to 9:30 p.m. today on the east coast and 6:30 p.m. on the west coast.
"The coolest Samsung smartphone will be coming to Canada soon", says text in the ending of an e-mail Samsung Canada is sending out. The rest of the message talks about Ice Cream Sandwich so it's pretty easy to figure out that they're talking about the rumored (and highly anticipated) Nexus Prime. "Additional information regarding launch date and availability" is expected "in the coming weeks". That should clear up some (American) exclusive CDMA rumors (Verizon)!

BlackBerry Packager For Android Launched
Are you a developer who wants to resign, repackage and submit your Android apps to a dying BlackBerry platform for use on devices that are barely selling? RIM's made it easy for you with the BlackBerry Tools SDK and ADT plug-in, and the BlackBerry Packager for Android.
OK, it's not quite that bad. If you're serious about submitting your apps for use on the BB PlayBook, the tool will check them for compatibility, sign, package and prep for submission. And it's nice to see RIM make it easy on devs.

Galaxy Nexus Images Leaked Before Samsung Google Event
The Google Android Ice Cream Sandwich and Samsung Galaxy Nexus/Nexus Prime event is just around the corner but here's something to get you through the next twelve hours of waiting. The image above together with the specs below are allegedly as close to official as possible as they come from Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo.
As you can see, the phone pictured above is the same with the one surfaced in real life shots and the side of the device is nothing else than what Samsung teased in its video, with the four connectors and the curved design.
Specs-wise, the Galaxy Nexus will reportedly sport a Texas Instruments OMAO 4460 1.2GHz dual-core processor helped by the PowerVR SGX 540 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 16/32GB of ROM, 4.7-inch Super AMOLED HD display with 720 x 1280 resolution, NFC, five-megapixel main camera, 1.3-megapixel webcam, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi a/b/g/n and a 1750 mAh battery plus notification LED.
Powering it will be, as expected, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and the phone will be codenamed (as we've previously seem) "Tuna"/"Tuna 4G". It will weight approximately 135 grams and measure 136.0 x 68.0 x 8.8 mm with 11.5 mm at its thickest part, the hump on the back. Now let's wait and see the official announcement! Excited yet?

'Battery Upgrade’ Malware Exposes Android Vulnerabilities
A battery manager App in the Android SmartPhone has revealed just how safe your Android SmartPhone is.Not only does this app encourages you to install Apps which are capable to infiltrate your Mobile Security but it appears than once it has gained entry,it steals your mobile phone number, email settings,IMEI code & many other confidential as well as personal details.
Not only these malware apps which goes by the names Battery Doctor & Battery Upgrade Mimic the legitimate Android apps like Power manger & Just defender, but it also starts placing advertisements in the pull down notification bar in your smartPhone & once installed it begins to drain your battery life further.
The moral of the story would be not to download any Android app from strange stores whose certificates are digitally not signed.Use the same concept when it comes your PC/Laptop.

Espier Launcher Emulates iOS Look & Feel In Android Phone
The thing about emulating Apples iOS is that its not only difficult but its almost impossible to replicate the Glossy, simpler & the beautiful screen offered in iOS.The one which was able to even come close to emulating iOS was almost way back by Custom ROM MIUI,but the downside was that it wouldn't utilize the full capabilities of the Android hardware owing to outdated Software & Hardware support. But now thanks to the Espier launcher, you can now bring your iOS screen & features to life in your Android SmartPhones without lowering the hardware.
The Espier launcher, which has been in works for a long time now has released the Launcher for free in the Android market and it requires Froyo & above to be implemented into your Android. It does an outstanding job of replicating the iOS feature in your Android handset.Although the App drawer is not yet implemented but thank fully, with a possibility of making appearance in the future versions, all we have right now is a 4 * 4 Apple grid screen along with the ability to dock or roll them into the iOS 4 folders.A swipe on the touchscreen will open the iOS styled fast app switcher where you can do a multitude of simultaneous operations like Adjust screen brightness,Wi-Fi,Volume settings, initiate or close apps, switch between them seamlessly, adjust volume etc.
The folder structure is also replicated here beautifully mimicking the Apple iOS,where dragging an icon onto to another creates a new folder and once tapped it pops up in the exact same way iOS does. There also appears to be a search feature on the left side & many more features.Although it might not be the most appetizing Emulator, but definitely its in the right path.Although the lack of widgets, rasterizing features along with display features might be staggering along with the pile of junk in the bottom part of the screen.Grab the launcher before Apple files another suit.

Official Dates For Google I/O Developer Conference Announced For 2012:April 24-25
Google's biggest event of the year, the Google I/O developer conference dates have officially been announced for 2012.The event is scheduled to be held on April 24th & 25th and as expected it promises to be better than the 2011 installment. The only thing google needs to arrange is a bigger Amphitheater along with more seats & tickets this time around. The event is expected to unfold at the Moscone Center West in San Fransisco California. The G-Men are expected to reveal plenty of Cryptic stuffs & Easter eggs so don't forget to bring your Easter baskets along because by that time,it’ll be a whole different game on the mobile operating system put up front by the G-guys.
Paucity of information has currently made it impossible to determine what all we can expect Google to pull things out of the hat now that last time it was the turn of Ice Cream Sandwich, which is expected to be unveiled at the Samsung-Google Event to be held in Hong Kong on October 19th.All we know as of now is that the Registration windows will open up pretty soon & if you are interested you can check out Google IO portal which would provide info pertaining to yesteryear's events especially as it was the birth place of Google's Ice Cream Sandwich. There was a free Galaxy Tab 10.1 which was then released to the public, there was the 5000 chromebooks for the fanatics along with the inception of Google Music Beta & much more things.Clearly Google had one hell of an event last time around & by the look of things we can expect it to be better than last year.
Last time around Google handed over 5000 chromebooks to all 5000 dev's in the event, what are they planning to give away this time around? No prizes for Guessing!see ya there.

No Ice Cream Sandwich For White Samsung Galaxy S II
As of now there are no devices which has been officially confirmed to be running or to run of Google's latest Android V4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. A YouTube video was spotted which claimed to be that of Google's Ice Cream Sandwich last week which featured new interfaces & apps which we all expect to be shipped with Ice Cream Sandwich which would be unveiled in the Google/Samsung Event on October 19th in Hong Kong.
Last month we had a few fake Ice Cream Sandwich launchers or home screens emerge & as of now only 2 apps-Google Music & Android market are the officially confirmed Apps to feature in the Ice Cream Sandwich & those versions are already leaked and available for download. It might be prudent to note here that the absence of the settings menu is one of the fundamental indicators of the fact that this might be just another fake which is also supported by the complete lack of on-screen navigation buttons.
This doesn't necessarily mean that Ice Cream Sandwich wont find its way into the existing SmartPhones. As soon as Google releases the Ice Cream Sandwich code as an open source we are destined to see some modified ICS to appear for the Nexus & Galaxy S II SmartPhones. With the Google & Samsung Event to unveil Galaxy nexus along with Ice Cream Sandwich,we can expect Google to make some startling revelations which would ultimately put a stop the rumors surrounding ICS.

Google Voice App Removed From iOS5 After Crash Reports
After making a brief appearance in the Apple iTunes App store,Google's Voice App was apparently taken off the air temporarily after there were issues pertaining to the latest update which has been crashing the App everytime the user tries to log in.The Voice app which found its way onto Apple's iOS devices which includes iPhones,iPod Touch &iPad has apparently being pulled out of the iTunes store to prevent more users to run into the issue associated with the most recent version-1.3.0.1771 of Google Voice having some stability issues.
Although the bug has affected only a fraction of the users,it was removed to be on a safer side with updates expected to roll out in a couple of days. But for now iOS device users will not be able to initiate new threads or make calls using Google voice, just after Google rolled out MMS support featuring multiple Carrier support.

Microsoft Donates $44 Million To Kick Android's Ass
Microsoft has apparently donated £28 million, or roughly $44 million to its Windows Phone partners which include Nokia & Samsung in order to bolster Microsoft's campaign in United Kingdom. It is also rumored that three-fourth of this amount will go to Nokia to broker the deal which would ensure that future Nokia SmartPhones will be running on Windows Phone 7.5/Mango & above.According to an anonymous source:
‘Microsoft is funding a massive campaign with Nokia across every single media you can imagine. It’s the last roll of the dice for them. They must go big, bad and boldly. Microsoft is desperate to kick the hell out of Android. If they can get across how amazing Mango is they could really crack it this time.’
Nokia is all set to unveil its very first Windows Phone devices at the Nokia World Event to be held in London on October 26th,where as Samsung is also looking forward to diversify from the Android platform probably after the launch of Galaxy nexus during the Samsung & Google Event to be held in Hong Kong on October 19th Tuesday.Samsung Omnia W is said to be the primary ficus of the Holiday season in U.K .
There are also rumors that the major emphasis might be given to the social networking features & integration, although the details are miniscule to say the least as to what we can expect during the World Nokia Event.
Apple iPhone 4S /iOS 5 Features preexisting In Android
Apple's product has peculiar penance which literally entices people to go for its coveted hardware which makes them feel unique, satisfied & also secure in a way & now that iOS5 has been rolled out which includes updates to previous apps & brought newer apps,Apple users are really in fora treat. On the flip-side are the Android users, who are actually Android dilettante's who are in no intentions to switch over the iOS domain. This is also propelled by the fact that if the same Apps which Apple is using to Woo its users has been long prevailing in the Android market.Lets just take a look & compare the top of the line Apps featured in both Android & Apple SmartPhones & devices.
In case your are wondering the image above corresponds to the Android genre where as the one below are the apps currently shipped along with Apple's latest iOS5.So even if you download all the apps from the Android market & plan to take on iPhone 4S,think again, you just might get Terminated by Apple's Siri as its a cold hearted Android Killer.Apparently Siri has rendered other Voice interpretation software literally useless .In the pre-iOS 5 era Android dominated the Voice domain with dynamic Vlingo app and also the voice search & Google Car Home Apps.Unfortunately Apple made a complete U-Turn after the iOS5 launch & Siri single handedly vaporized them.Siri's Fuzzy Logic technology is probably the highlight of the Intelligence feature & I am looking forward for the Android implementation.
Apple's latest messenger app,iMessenger which enables Apple users to chat,share/send multimedia files ,videos etc using iCloud finds its Android installment in Google Talk,Facebook Messenger & Beluga. Also iMessenger might not even be able to take on Google Voice.
The newsstand app enables iOS device users to fetch his/her magazine subscriptions from the Apple store. If you are an Android enthusiast, then definitely you must have heard about Nook. This is the corresponding Android App which will retrieve the magazines from the Android market onto the screen.Apple's Remainders seem to be Android's classic Google Calendar & Jorte App which have been prevalent in the App store for almost years now,in fact even before iPhone 4 was unveiled.
May be Apple has the official twitter App built into the iOS5 but the Android users had been using TweetCaster,Twidroyd which is actually a 3rd party app.Apple's motives to not to indulge in 3rd party apps might be a part of its strategy to reduce its dependence on it & would prefer to load it right into the iOS directly.Thats not all, there are a plethora of other app's which are available in Google's Android market, which are just now appearing in Apple's iOS5 devices.Whats the point in publicizing something in a new name when the same has been preexisting already?
In the Photography section,Android's HTC 4G Amaze has probably the best camera which overtake Apple's iphone 4S Camera with more lights per Pixel & better properties.Apple's Camera App is contemporary with Androids ZOOM Fix.Apple's Illustrious Safari browser which is considered as the most efficient Mobile web browser as it supports maximum HTML 5 tags & features than anyother in the market.Opposite to this is the Dolphin browser which is an open source app & Google's very own Chrome is anticipated to take its place in future Android mobiles.
So as you can see Android is almost ready to take on Apple & its associated devices & now with Android's latest Installment codenamed Ice Cream Sandwich all ready to be unveiled in the Samsung & Google Event on October 19th hong Kong,we can expect the iOS vs Android war to get fueled further. The event will go live at 7 P.M as per the Pacific standard time on october 18 which means 10:00 A.M.You can also watch it on Streaming At http://youtube.com/android,after the Hong Kong its expected to be unveiled in San Diego which would be absolutely fabulous.

Google has officially confirmed that it will be rolling out support for Google Voice MMS feature & have actually found a workaround fix as of now.Confirming the rumors which were flying around the internet, the Google voice team has released a support document as indicated above.
If you are a Google voice user & want to implement the MMS messages then you need to log-into Google Voice -->Settings-->under the "Voicemail & Text"Feature as "Forward text messages to my email".This tweak will allow your buddies to send MMS(images/Sounds or any multimedia files) & it will arrive in the designated email account & receive the texts. Now That Google Voice MMS Support Official go play with it.As of now this is the only fix available for now & the trick seems to be working with Sprint,AT & T T-Mobile Carriers as of now.Verizon is yet to be verified.Any updates?

Google has decided to pull the plug on Google Buzz,a Gmail based social app which laid the foundations for the revolutionary Google+.Although its about to be phased out,old users will still be able to view the Buzz contents as of now until its taken off the air.Not only is Google Buzz shutting down,a couple of social products which includes Jaiku & iGoogle are also expected to be phased out too.All these are expected to happen in a matter of weeks. Also Google code search & a API program which enables researches to Google results will also be terminated. As of now Google Labs site has been shutdown completely. Also social products like Aardvark & Slide are also being shutdown.Google has decided to focus completely on Google+ which is possibly the fastest growing Social Network in History featuring 40M users in just 3 months. Now as per the Google Blog the following changes will go into effect in the upcoming weeks:
Even though Google Buzz will not be missed much as it failed to establish itself in the social network,it should be credited as the blueprint on which Google launched Google+- Code Search, which was designed to help people search for open source code all over the web, will be shut down along with the Code Search API on January 15, 2012.
- In a few weeks we’ll shut down Google Buzz and the Buzz API, and focus instead on Google+. While people obviously won't be able to create new posts after that, they will be able to view their existing content on their Google Profile, and download it using Google Takeout.
- Jaiku, a product we acquired in 2007 that let users send updates to friends, will shut down on January 15, 2012. We’ll be working to enable users to export their data from Jaiku.
- Several years ago, we gave people the ability to interact socially on iGoogle. With our new focus on Google+, we will remove iGoogle's social features on January 15, 2012. iGoogle itself, and non-social iGoogle applications, will stay as they are.
- The University Research Program for Google Search, which provides API access to our search results for a small number of approved academic researchers, will close on January 15, 2012.
Google Voice Rolls Out MMS Support For Most Carriers
MMS support has been on the wish list of Google fanatics & it appears that Google might be officially rolling out the MMS service any time soon.Right now Google has actually rolled out a workaround fix which would enable you to receive the MMS sent to your Google Voice number, the same number used in Google voice installation.
Unofficially it appears that Google voice now sends you notifications for every incoming MM you are about to receive.Unfortunately you wont get the MMS directly, but if you have enabled SMS forwarding option in your Google Voice then you will receive the MMS in your email Inbox.Well its atleast something better than nothing right?Right now except Verizon everyother carrier users are the have been able to exploit this new feature. So the Verizon users must wait for the any further workaround which might be coming this way.
Google Voice To Receive MMS Support
Google fanatics are in for a treat this time around.Google voice might finally be getting the MMS feature this time around. Also Google voice has now started to send notifications to corresponding to incoming MMS via the email inbox. You will not receive the message itself, but in case you are forwarding texts to your email account after which you will receive the email notification of the message.
Unfortunately the features are only for the non-Verizon carriers for now, although it will probably be featured into Verizon too. Will update you on any further info's

Google's HoneyComb Sales No Where Near Apple iPad
Apple's iPad still occupy the throne when it comes to the Tablet industry when Samsung & Google's HoneyComb has failed to impress the masses thereby has been a failure.Although the actual Android sales data is not available, experts claim that Android Tablets are currently in no form to take on the Apple giant.
With Google revealing its Q3 reports,Google's Larry Paige has claimed that around 190M Android devices are currently active. Also as per the platform reports, there are about 1.8 Android devices which had accessed the Android market in the last 14 days running on Android vesions 3.0,3.1,3.2 & there was approximately 38.2% devices running on GingerBread 2.3.3 & above.Merge all of those stat & Viola 3.4M units.
Although this number might be vary as this includes only Google Certified Tablets ie,the ones which are officially permitted to access the Android market. There are others which fail to qualify here which includes alternate versions of Android & third party stores like Amazon App for Android etc.
Even if those numbers are inlcuded they wont be big enough to take on the primitive iPad itself. The first generation iPad sold well over 15M in its opening year where as Google & its business partners are waaaaay behind & we can officially brand HoneyComb as a FAILURE!
