Nokia's First Windows Phone To Be Unveiled In November

Nokia's First Windows Phone To Be Unveiled In November
Nokia's first Windows Phone 7 hardware is coming soon, and we've been hoping for at least one such handset to arrive before the year's out. Nokia World is coming up later this month, and with plenty of Microsoft personnel speaking, we can almost certainly expect to learn about Nokia's WP7 plans then. In the meantime, a new leak hopes to give us an idea of when that first Nokia WP7 gear might drop.
We've heard names for a few of the Nokia models we're expecting, like the Sea Ray and Sabre, but this leak doesn't specifically identify the model in question. What it does offer, is that Italian carrier TIM is expecting some Nokia Mango-running smartphone to become available during the month of November. There's no mention of a more specific date, and the pricing information isn't available, but it's promising news nonetheless. Presumably, if this November launch information is accurate, we'll see Nokia's phone arrive on carriers all across Europe at around the same time, but for all we know a global release could be on a staggered schedule; we'll have to wait for Nokia World for more info.

Windows 7 Crowned As The Most Widely Used OS:Overtakes Windows XP

Windows 7 Crowned As The Most Widely Used OS:Overtakes Windows XP
Proud day for Windows 7 as it has been crowned as the most widely used Operating System(OS) when it overtook Windows XP for the very first time since its inception in 2009.Amounting to almost 40.21% of the Global users world wide,Windows 7 has steadily increased over the years where as the dethroned Windows Xp currently has slipped to 38.64% according to a review conducted by statCounter.Although the drop has shown a regression pattern ever since Windows 7 was rolled out,it took it almost 2 years to depose Windows Xp.
Windows 7 Crowned As The Most Widely Used OS:Overtakes Windows XP
Windows 7 had a skyrocketing start thanks to the positive critical acclaim it managed to gather with its Beta release.Just 2 weeks into the launch,Windows 7 had already overcome Apple's Snow Leopard market share .3 months into the launch,Windows 7 had engulfed almost 10% of the Global OS market share. It crossed the VIsta mark just after 10 months into its launch.By the time Windows 7 celebrated its very first Birthday,it had already sold 240Million genuine copies. And now according to latest reports Windows 7 is expected to be available on atleast 42% of the PC's worldwide by 2011.Also it is estimated that major PC manufacturers like IBM,Samsung,Dell,HP will be looking to Sport Windows 7 Home Edition as the fundamental OS to its PC's in 2011 which accounts to almost 94% with experts claiming this colossal number to be a staggering 635 Million.
Now that Microsoft has released the Developer version of Windows 8 which is currently in Beta phase.Windows 8 has received mostly from positive reviews to mixed ones.Windows 8 sports a new Metro GUI look which can be favorable for Touch screen devices although without touch screen its practically useless. This Metro is the core of the OS which manages the interactions with the Start Menu & the operating system features. One thing which doesn't seem to be gone well is the Metro UI start menu interface as most of the users prefer the conventional start menu like in Windows 7 or Xp.But apart from that Windows 8 Developer edition has provided a rich & hassle free user experience compared to any other Windows OS.Windows 8 is expected to be unveiled sometime in the Q2 of 2012 where it will be implemented on ARM & Intel powered tablets & PC's.

Microsoft Donates $44 Million To Kick Android's Ass

Microsoft has apparently donated £28 million, or roughly $44 million to its Windows Phone partners which include Nokia & Samsung in order to bolster Microsoft's campaign in United Kingdom. It is also rumored that three-fourth of this amount will go to Nokia to broker the deal which would ensure that future Nokia SmartPhones will be running on Windows Phone 7.5/Mango & above.According to an anonymous source:
‘Microsoft is funding a massive campaign with Nokia across every single media you can imagine. It’s the last roll of the dice for them. They must go big, bad and boldly. Microsoft is desperate to kick the hell out of Android. If they can get across how amazing Mango is they could really crack it this time.’
Nokia is all set to unveil its very first Windows Phone devices at the Nokia World Event to be held in London on October 26th,where as Samsung is also looking forward to diversify from the Android platform probably after the launch of Galaxy nexus during the Samsung & Google Event to be held in Hong Kong on October 19th Tuesday.Samsung Omnia W is said to be the primary ficus of the Holiday season in U.K .
There are also rumors that the major emphasis might be given to the social networking features & integration, although the details are miniscule to say the least as to what we can expect during the World Nokia Event.

ChevronWP7 Labs To Roll out For Windows Phone 7

Incase you are new to the ChevronWP7 Labs is an unlocking app for the Windows Phone 7 which is actually an alternative to those who are either not eligible for Windows Developer account or find it too expensive).Although ChevronWP7 Labs is charged for $9,its much better than spending $100 on the Windows developer account.
It allows the enthusiasts to install, run,& possibly debug unsigned apps in Windows Phone. The best feature about this is that even if you use ChevronWP7 Labs you will not be violating any Windows Phone terms & conditions so its completely compliant with the TOS.Although you can't use this tool to install pirated apps on the Windows Phone as no such feature is available as of now.

Bing Maps "Road View" Implemented On Windows Phone

If you are accustomed to using maps for navigational purposes on your Windows SmartPhones, then you would have witnessed a new feature which would display the map in the "Road view".The color feature is also implemented just like the Bing conventional internet Maps where the purple color stands for Highway & Major links,Deep Grey indicates Secondary roads ,Red for badges & much more. The mapping from the internet to the handheld map also seems to be updated & seems to cover a lot of routes under its repository.

Dell Venue Pro Compass Disabled Bug: Runs Amok

Dell Pro appears to be at the receiving end for all the wrong reasons. After being revealed that Dell Venue Pro cannot be used as an Internet Sharing Hub Or center,Users are now reporting an apparent bug which renders the compass useless.A deeper analysis of the Phone system logs from the mango update appears to indicate something wrong with the compass driver file.
This is the case with most of the people who updated their Dell Venue Pro to Mango & instantly noted something weird with its digital compass.Attempts to read the phone's orientation consistently returned results of 100 degrees, irrespective of the relative direction of the phone.Rule of the thumb states that the bug lies with the Mango update & it appears that a particular file, compassDrv.dll is missing indicating that it might have been erased during the Mango update.
Although its too early to blame this new induced bug to be a consequence of forced Mango update, also it included files which were copied from the OS update which invariably altered or deleted the device specific drivers. So the next time they wont indulge in a force install & it can be assured that DVP firmware 219 will not be a part of the next Official Mango update expected soon.A fix might just be on the way.

Microsoft Signs Patent Agreement With Quanta Regarding Android

Microsoft has apparently signed a patent with Quanta, the Original Design manufacturer(ODM)for the playbook & Kindle Fire, just days after it had entered an agreement with HTC & Samsung with respect to the Android related patents. The deal encompasses all Quanta made products which inlcudes SmartPhones,Tablets & other devices which might be implemented on Android or Chrome platform.Although there has been no details revealed but it is suspected that Microsoft will earn approximately $5 for every HTC Android SmartPhone & $10 for every Samsung one.

Microsoft Finalizes Skype deal:Reportedly Sold For $8.5 billion

Microsoft's acquisition of Skype is now officially finalized just after 5 months since it was revealed for a reported $8.5 Billion.Skype's CEO will take over his new role as the Software Giant's Skype division President and will report directly to Steve Ballmer.Bates had commented on Microsoft's Official blog regarding the new Microsoft-Skype venture & contrary to our expectations he was apparently overwhelmed with the acquisition & claimed that the new owner “is committed to the ubiquity of the Skype experience” and that “communication across every device and every platform will remain a primary focus.”
Describing the deal as a marriage scenario involving two "disruptive, innovative, software oriented companies",Tony Bates didn't shed much light into the actual roles he is expected to perform but he reassured that Skype has & always will be a fore-runner of future communication innovations across a plethora of platforms. The funny thing is that Skype ha been available in the Windows platform & Mac platform including iPad,iPhone & also the Android SmartPhones,it has never found its way into the Windows Phone.Ironic Isn't it?Well probably we can expect Microsoft to roll out the Skype App for the Windows Phone users not that its has acquired Skype & just might be the top priority of the new Skype division as of now.
The news from Microsoft section claims that it is looking forward to integrate Skype's VOIP system over the broad array of Microsoft's products available which would not only propel Skype's growth and will also be used as a fundamental mode of communication which would try to thwart its competitors like Google Talk ,Yahoo Messenger etc.
Now that XBOX live is to receive a plethora of new Steaming & Cable TV supports,it wouldn't be surprising to see the Skype App find its way into Microsoft's XBOX & Media Centre Editions. Not to mention,it just might become the primary communicator for the Windows OS platforms in conjunction with the Windows Live Id in the future. The next move might be to integrate into Video conferencing system using Skype for VOIP & a basic web along with TV & transform it into a real time web conference device a cheaper alternative to the expensive CISCO ones available in the market.

Nokia 800/Sea Ray/Ace : First Images Appears

With the Nokia World Event just a few weeks away, all eyes are on Nokia as its expected to unveil its first Windows Phone or lets say Phones. There were a lot of images circling around the internet which appears to be Nokia's Sea Ray,which is expected to be named as Nokia 800,although some evidence suggests it might be released as Lumia & the names doesn't seem to stop.Other name includes,Sun,Sabre,Pheonix,Ace etc & the list is almost endless.Having said that I wouldn't me surprised if Nokia rolls out 2 or more SmartPhones during the event.
Sometimes the Ad's can reveal a lot what the manufactures can't.From what I can concur,it seems that Nokia is planning to promote Nokia 800 as a companion for life's everyday adventures just like your spouse. This is actually contradicting the very first ad during the which had conveyed the message that the next generation SmartPhone aims at reducing the amount of time involved fiddling with it.Confusing as hell.Well lets let Nokia clear our queries with the event just weeks away.

Windows Phone To Come With Dual-core CPUs and LTE in the Future

Windows Phone which released its latest firmware 7.5 update,Mango which enables multi-tasking,fast switching on almost all the Windows App along with bigger & better improvements in the Os.And right now they have started to work on their next goal-Dual Core CPU phones with LTE connectivity.Andy Lees, head of Windows Phone division shed some light in what we can expect from Microsoft in the upcoming year.Currently in a very good position to portray itself as the third best mobile OS in the industry as a worthy alternative to Android & iOs,and with the Mango being a hit things just can't get better for Microsoft.
When asked about the implementation of CPU,it was revealed that the current best Windows Phone sports a 1.5 Dual Core CPU and on par with the contemporary SmartPhones which come with dual core it manages to stand its ground. As for now the work on Dual Core has already started & one can see the upcoming WP to come with dual core architecture. With the multi-tasking feature the dual core CPU will transform the device into possibly one of the best SmartPhones ever launched.
The primary reason to cast out the LTE or 4G technology is due to the primitive nature of the silicon chip & its extra-ordinary appetite for power which will literally draw power from its battery @ a geometric rate.As time progresses the technology will get better & we can expect future devices to come with the 4G technology.Currently Microsoft has entered into a patent signing deal with Samsung as the next version of Windows Phone might need Samsung support.
