Focus S, Focus Flash and Omnia W From Samsung Prices Leaked

Here's a rather interesting picture but before you do anything, make sure you have your salt ready (and overlook the typo in the first row). According to the image above, the Samsung Windows Phone Mango line-up will be wearing those price tags.We've heard of the Samsung Focus S and Focus Flash when AT&T announced its Windows Phone Mango line-up. Out of the three mentioned in the picture above, only the Omnia W, the manufacturer's European phone has been officially announced. Many believe that the Focus Flash and the Omnia W will go in pairs according to their specs and the upcoming Focus S will have its Omnia S cousin for Europe as a manufacturer's flagship.
                                                 Except for the picture that popped up fairly recently, nobody ever saw the Omnia S (if you don't count the Microsoft peeps that initially showed some unreleased Mango devices off). The phone should be a Galaxy S II-like Windows Phone that would be Samsung's flagship in the US (with its Omnia S European counterpart).
                                                 The prices above, if anything close to reality, have to be contract-free prices. In case of the Omnia W for $569, we're definitely talking about unlocked phones but how about the Flash for $549 and the Omnia S for $649? AT&T locked contract-free phones?

Apple As Set For iPhone 5 Release In Summer 2012

Two weeks, that's how long it took the iPhone 5 rumors to resurface after Apple introduced the iPhone 4S on October 4. Of course, everyone expected the iPhone 5, or the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 4S, but according to recent reports, the Apple phone with the number 5 in its name is still on for a summer release.
                     Steve Jobs was allegedly working on his last project, which was not the iPhone 4S but the iPhone 5. Things were on track up until this February when there were some production delays. The iPhone 4S is another team's work and it became top priority when Apple allegedly realized the iPhone 5 won't make it to the shelves in time for the holiday season.
                                                             Now that the iPhone 4S is breaking iPhone 4 sales records, the thinner, lighter and tapered iPhone 5 Fata Morgana is back in the center of attention. Wait for it as it looks like it's coming next summer, according to rumors.

Nokia's First Windows Phone To Be Unveiled In November

Nokia's first Windows Phone 7 hardware is coming soon, and we've been hoping for at least one such handset to arrive before the year's out. Nokia World is coming up later this month, and with plenty of Microsoft personnel speaking, we can almost certainly expect to learn about Nokia's WP7 plans then. In the meantime, a new leak hopes to give us an idea of when that first Nokia WP7 gear might drop.
             We've heard names for a few of the Nokia models we're expecting, like the Sea Ray and Sabre, but this leak doesn't specifically identify the model in question. What it does offer, is that Italian carrier TIM is expecting some Nokia Mango-running smartphone to become available during the month of November. There's no mention of a more specific date, and the pricing information isn't available, but it's promising news nonetheless. Presumably, if this November launch information is accurate, we'll see Nokia's phone arrive on carriers all across Europe at around the same time, but for all we know a global release could be on a staggered schedule; we'll have to wait for Nokia World for more info.

Platform With Most Expensive Apps

As developers scramble to get their apps in all three major app stores--the Windows Phone Marketplace, the Android Market, and the Apple App Store--we're starting to see the same app become available on multiple device types, which is great. What's interesting is how the prices differ, often significantly, between platforms. We did a survey of the most popular cross-platform apps. On average, Windows Phone apps are the most expensive, with iOS apps coming in with the best prices. This might very well have to do with scale: developers are willing to price their apps lower on the iOS app store not only because there is more price competition (with over 500,000 apps now), but also because they think they'll sell many more apps at the lower price.

                                            OK, it's not quite that bad. If you're serious about submitting your apps for use on the BB PlayBook, the tool will check them for compatibility, sign, package and prep for submission. And it's nice to see RIM make it easy on devs.

NTT DoCoMo To Receive Galaxy Nexus By November

Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo has prematurely confirmed Google and Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus, the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone, set to be officially revealed in a few hours time in Hong Kong. According to the carrier’s tweet, NTT DoCoMo will be “among the first” to launch the Galaxy Nexus, expected to take place at some point in November.
                                          Unfortunately there’s no specification detail included, which means we only have the previously leaked and rumored data to go on. That’s suggested a 4.65-inch 1280 x 720 Super AMOLED HD display, curved chassis and 1.5GHz dual-core processor, along with NFC, high-speed cellular connectivity and an 8-megapixel camera with Full HD video recording.NTT DoCoMo does have an LTE network, so it’s possible the Nexus Prime could pack 4G too. There have been rumors of a Verizon exclusivity deal in the US, though so far unconfirmed, but that might imply that the Nexus Prime would be a World Phone, like the iPhone 4S, combining CDMA and GSM/UMTS support.

ARM and TSMC To Unveil first multicore 20nm ARM Cortex-A15 processor

The taping out of a new processor is one of the points on the map to full production of a new processor. This step has to be completed before the new processors can come to market. ARM and TSMC have announced that they have completed tape out the first 20nm ARM Cortex-A15 multicore processor. Going to a smaller build process is very important to allowing processors to have better performance while producing less heat and consuming less power.
                             Both ARM and TSMC have completed the implementation from RTL to tape out on the new processor in six months. The process was able to be completed so quickly thanks to the TSMC Open Innovation Platform 20nm design ecosystem, claims TSMC. The Cortex-A15 has low power consumption and high performance with an advanced feature set.
                                                 The Cortex-A15 processor will be used in all sorts of products including smartphones, tablets, mobile computing, digital home products, and other devices. The test chip was implemented with a commercially available 20nm tool chain and TSMC is hailing the collaboration resulting in the new chip as a confirmation that its Open Innovation Platform promoting innovation for the semiconductor design community works.
