Major Security Vulnerabilities Discovered On HTC Android Mobile Phones

Android mobiles are currently witnessing a wave of security Issues one by one. After Samsung/AT & T lockscreen issue, the recent one on the list belongs to HTC.Analysts have narrowed the bug down to two possibilities that either there is a vulnerability in the Android's platform or a malware Infected App was packed allow with the mobile phone. The devices which seem to be riddled with the security flaw includes:EVO 4G, EVO 3D,Thunderbolt, MyTouch 4G Slide ,EVO Shift 4G.With the bug appearing in current as well as previous installments of HTC phone,it can be ascertained that the bug will probably appear in Vigor, sensation models & anyother which are to be shipped with the same Apps or the operating ssystem.
Although,it is 90 % sure that the fault actually lies with HTC rather than Google's Android, the Taiwanese giant is expected to make a few Update releases in the coming days.To make things worse,it has been discovered that HTC's logging tools have been secretly collecting & sending mission critical data to unknown service, although what has been transferred is still a mystery. The Android police claim the data transpired to be anything from GPS location, phone log history, Sms history, system logs, encoded messages to name a few.
Although it might seem that the applications which request internet access in Android phone via android.permission.INTERNET cannot possible be malevolent or bad,the fault might actually lie with HTC's HtcLoggers.apk.There are two ways to solve this issue:
  • Either delete the /system/add/HtcLoggers.apk Or
  • Pray to god that HTC releases a fix for it.
