Samsung Galaxy S II To Receive Updates With Improvements & Firmware Upgrade:Bigger Menu & Firmware Over the Air Widget

Samsung's Galaxy S II,the worlds fastest SmartPhone yet is all set to receive 2 important updates,to alter the features of the phone. The GingerBread Android Os will also receives its updates which will not only make changes in the scrollbar mechanism to prevent the patent violations, but it will also make the phone's response faster & better with the latest firmware update. The update will increase the phone's on-screen application icons by atmost 30%.The implied meaning is that the home-screen will now feature just 3 icons at the bottom and the application menu grid will be a 3* 3 matrix.
It seems that the update is the consequence of the ongoing patent battle of Samsung with Apple for replicating the trade dress of Apple's iPhone. After this update,it will be in no way feature any similarity to Apple's iPhone there by will not be pulled into the Patent violation.
A new widget is expected to make appearance, the firmware over the air widget, which would inform you regarding the Os properties such as the current OS,availability of any updates etc. This new widget will definitely make the OS firmware update process a lot easier & Hassle free. The update is expected to hit the screen pretty soon & I am hoping that the Icon size change is not mandatory as it would result in unwanted scrolling & wastage of screen space.
